Is is necessary to pull the engine to replace the crankcase to cylinder two piece gasket (part #3070-71B)? It looks like it is required! Thank you, Jeff
 

It would be near impossible to pull the motor with the tranmission attached to it with the block still in the car. Once you are pulling the block you might as well pull the pan also because it is just a few bolts.
