Questions and Answers
Where is this mounted? did the 1919-1922 coupes have these or anything with a patent date or serial number originally? I have a 1922 Model T coupe, and the only thing that has a number on it is the engine, and that shows that it's a 1917. I know that the body must be newer, because it has the sliding latch type door windows(1922-23).
If you have a steel firewall the patent plate mounts on the firewall, in front of the passenger and over the carburetor adjusting rod.
If you have a wood firewall the I have seen the patent plate mounted over the steering column or over the carburetor adjusting rod.
The 1919-22 coupes (and all Model T's these years) did not have serial number plates.
Until Mid 1926-27 the only serial numbers were on the engine. It is common for Model T's to have engines that have been replaced.
